Spotlight: Take the guesswork out of email campaigns with A/B testing
00:00:00:25 - 00:00:23:08
Hi, guys. It's Lucy here from SwiftFox. And today I'm really excited to walk you through one of our major features from our most recent deploy, which is A/B testing an email. So if you are using SwiftFox Emails or if you would like to use SwiftFox Emails, we really recommend you tuning in. So here I am on SwiftFox Emails and you'll see we have a new toggle here for “Use A/B Testing”.
00:00:23:12 - 00:00:47:47
If you do want to learn more about what A/B Testing actually is, you can click on the information icon here. I'll toggle this on and the first thing it asks me to do is select the percentage of my audience that I would like to include in the A/B test variations. As default, we have this set to 20%. Essentially, that means that the remaining 80% of my audience will receive the winning email.
00:00:48:09 - 00:01:07:27
I then have the option to select what SwiftFox will decide the best performing email based on which can either be click right or open right. For this email, I'll be testing out two different subject lines, so I'll select open rate. I then need to select the time in which I would like this A/B testing to take place in.
00:01:07:31 - 00:01:30:32
As default we have to set to one hour, which I'm just going to leave as it is. On the next stepper are you'll see an option for campaign A and campaign B. Campaign A, you'll see I've set “Welcome to the Tech Association” as the subject line. If I head over to campaign B you'll see I've set “Have you received your new member pack?” as the subject line.
00:01:30:36 - 00:01:54:00
If I head into the next stepper, I then have the option to select two different design variations for these two emails. Or I might want to just keep these designs the same, which I'll do for this demo. If you do want to switch to design B, you can select the button in the top left corner, where here I can see that the two templates have been loaded in and look the same. If I head to my next stepper
00:01:54:28 - 00:02:17:29
I'm now ready to send this email here I can say that AB testing is enabled and as usual, I can select from the three send methods. That SwiftFox has to offer. For this email, I'll be using our standard method, so I'll hit send. When you visit your campaign overview page, you'll see a new window here displaying the A/B test results.
00:02:17:33 - 00:02:37:19
Here I can flick between design A and design B. I'll also be able to see what the winning email was, as well as a breakdown of the individual metrics for both emails. So that's A/B testing in SwiftFox emails for data understanding of our features, you can head to the SwiftFox Academy, and don't forget to keep an eye out on our next product update.
