He's a riddle. Trust me, you will love it. What can help you... organise your contacts, send texts, be there for your events, be behind every email, every form, every mail? Every. Every. It's the list builder. Wow. Tell me more, without riddles.
00:00:23:39 - 00:00:30:17
All right, I shall. The list builder is the backstage champion behind all your communication tools.
00:00:30:21 - 00:00:52:14
You can create lists for emails, events, surveys, call lists, forms and texts. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to build targeted lists in SwiftFox that will change your life. 'Okay, it was a bit much?' 'Oh, okay. Yeah, sure. Thank you'. Excuse me for being passionate. I suppose. Okay.
00:00:52:14 - 00:01:04:49
In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to build a list in SwiftFox, understand the results table and save your list. So let's get into it.
00:01:05:03 - 00:01:27:05
First, let's find the list builder by clicking on the lists icon on our left hand side menu. Here you'll see a big list of expanding menus and a results table. Each menu contains a list of fields which are your search items for contacts in SwiftFox. Each one that is filled will bring up contacts that match that criteria.
00:01:27:09 - 00:01:41:49
Let's get started with an example and search for all members in SwiftFox who live in Melbourne. Firstly, let's reset the list builder. So it doesn't display any previous searches. You can do this by clicking Clear Search criteria.
00:01:42:03 - 00:01:52:07
Your results table will now show all your contacts in SwiftFox. Now let's decide whether we want to search for people in SwiftFox or organisations.
00:01:52:11 - 00:02:04:19
You can switch between the two from the tabs at the top of the page. Today we'll search for people who are categorised as members. To do this, we will click on the Category Type field and select members.
00:02:04:23 - 00:02:14:20
Now the contacts appearing in the results table has been updated to only show members. Now we will refine our search further by selecting our geographic area.
00:02:14:24 - 00:02:25:49
So we'll click on the locations menu and click on Boundary Type and select Greater Metropolitan Areas. Then in the select boundary field will search for Greater Melbourne.
00:02:26:03 - 00:02:38:43
Now looking at our table our results have been refined down to only members in SwiftFox who live in Melbourne. Lucky them.
00:02:38:47 - 00:02:52:10
Now it's time to say the results of this list I've just built. There are several options to how your results can be shown in the results table. Next to the List Actions button, you will see the total number of contacts who match your search.
00:02:52:14 - 00:02:57:06
You can sort how your results are displayed by clicking sort and selecting your preferences.
00:02:57:15 - 00:03:08:29
You can choose the columns you want to show in the results table by clicking the hide icon and clicking on columns you don't want displayed. This is a handy way to keep your results table uncluttered.
00:03:08:33 - 00:03:23:19
You can also expand your results table to full screen mode by clicking the full screen icon. You can exit full screen mode by clicking the escape button on your keyboard, or by clicking X.
00:03:23:23 - 00:03:38:26
Once you're happy with your list, you can either create a new list which contains all the results, or a list which only contains a selection of the results. To select only some people in the list, click the checkbox next to the people you want saved.
00:03:38:30 - 00:03:48:01
Then click List Actions and select add one to list. Now a pop up will be displayed with a search bar to add all the results to the list.
00:03:48:03 - 00:04:05:31
Don't check any of the boxes, simply get your results clicked. List actions and select Add All Results to list. To add contacts to an existing list, start typing the name of the list and it will appear. If the list doesn't already exist, you can create it here.
00:04:05:35 - 00:04:16:16
Now your list is created and you can easily find it in the menu on the right side of the list builder. Thanks for listening and to watch any more of our tutorials click below.
