006-02 Users & Groups
00:00:05:27 - 00:00:19:31
This tutorial is one for the all powerful SwiftFox administrators. You will learn how to grant, edit, and delete permissions for users and how to create user groups so that you can do this efficiently and effectively.
00:00:19:35 - 00:00:34:00
Everyone who has an account with SwiftFox is called a SwiftFox user, and if you're a SwiftFox administrator, you can see all users with access to your SwiftFox environment.
00:00:34:04 - 00:00:53:10
To see a full list of users, navigate to SwiftFox settings. Then under administration, select SwiftFox users. Here you can see a full list of all users with access to SwiftFox, including their name; login, email address, and any user groups they've been assigned in SwiftFox.
00:00:53:14 - 00:01:04:06
Now only administrators can see this, so if you can't, you will need to speak to a SwiftFox administrator in your organisation.
00:01:04:10 - 00:01:22:37
Now what is a user group? A user group is an individual or collection of users who are assigned permissions to access specific features within SwiftFox. Even if a user group consists of just 1 person, it's about the set of permissions that person has.
00:01:22:37 - 00:01:29:20
For example, you might have a user group named 'admin team' or 'finance team' or 'marketing team'.
00:01:29:20 - 00:01:48:18
Within the group are a set of permissions that that user or users require for their role. Here you can see Karen Shawman's User Groups. To add a new user group to Karen's profile, write the name of the user group in the dropdown and select it. Then click add.
00:01:48:22 - 00:02:01:30
Now, if you want to delete a user from a user group, all you need to do is click the delete button in the table containing the user group and then click confirm.
00:02:01:34 - 00:02:13:39
To see all the user groups. Simply select the user group heading under the System Administration folder in settings. Here you will see a table of all the user groups in your organisation.
00:02:13:43 - 00:02:24:14
When you click on a user group, you will see a list of SwiftFox features with toggles next to them. If the toggle is on, all users in that group can access the feature.
00:02:24:18 - 00:02:39:43
If it's off, they can't access it. Thanks for listening. Hopefully you are very well versed on all things user and user group. To find out more about user group settings or anything else in SwiftFox, check out our list of tutorials below.
